Boeing 777

Boeing

Boeing's iconic long-haul wide-body twin-engine jetliner.

The Boeing 777 is a family of long-range, wide-body, twin-engine jet airliners developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Launched in 1990 and entering service in 1995, it was the world's largest twin-engine commercial aircraft until the introduction of the 777X. It was the first commercial aircraft to be designed entirely on computers. The 777 family includes several variants, such as the 777-200, 777-200ER, 777-200LR, 777-300, 777-300ER, and the freighter 777F. The 777-300ER became the most popular variant, widely adopted for long-haul international routes due to its fuel efficiency and extended range. The next-generation 777X, featuring composite folding wingtips and new GE9X engines, is currently under development and in testing, with entry into service anticipated in the mid-2020s. The original 777 variants remain in widespread service with major carriers worldwide.
