LAN Argentina, operating under the IATA code 4M and ICAO code DSM with the callsign LAN AR, was the Argentine subsidiary of the Chilean carrier LAN Airlines. It operated domestic routes within Argentina as well as international services connecting the country to destinations across South America and beyond.
The airline was established as part of LAN's broader strategy to expand its network across Latin America through regional subsidiaries. It operated alongside other LAN group carriers such as LAN Chile, LAN Peru, and LAN Ecuador, sharing common branding, operational standards, and frequent flyer programs.
Following the merger of LAN Airlines and TAM Linhas Aéreas to form LATAM Airlines Group in 2012, LAN Argentina was rebranded as LATAM Airlines Argentina. The carrier eventually ceased operations in 2020 amid the economic and operational pressures brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and broader financial challenges facing the LATAM group.
Hubs & network
LAN Argentina primarily operated from Jorge Newbery Aeropark (AEP) and Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) in Buenos Aires.
Fleet
LAN Argentina operated Airbus A320 family narrowbody aircraft on domestic and regional international routes.
