Interjet, officially known as ABC Aerolineas, was a Mexican low-cost carrier that operated domestic and international routes from its base in Mexico City. Founded in 2005, the airline quickly grew to become one of Mexico's major carriers, known for offering a mid-tier experience between budget and full-service airlines.
The airline distinguished itself by operating a fleet of Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft alongside Airbus A320-family jets, and by offering more generous seat pitch than many competitors. Interjet served destinations across Mexico, the United States, Canada, Central America, and Cuba.
Interjet suspended operations in late 2020 amid severe financial difficulties, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and longstanding debt issues. The airline faced tax debts, unpaid salaries, and creditor disputes, and had not resumed regular commercial flights as of the mid-2020s.
