Yundum (Banjul), Gambia
Banjul International Airport, also known as Yundum Airport, is the principal commercial airport serving Gambia and its capital city, Banjul. Located approximately 22 kilometres south of Banjul in the town of Yundum, it handles the majority of the country's international passenger traffic, including a significant volume of leisure travellers from Europe. The airport has historically been an important hub for tourism to Gambia, sometimes called the 'Smiling Coast of Africa.' The facility has undergone various infrastructure improvements over the years and is operated under the oversight of the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority. Its runway is capable of accommodating wide-body aircraft.
