Dublin, Ireland
Dublin Airport (IATA: DUB, ICAO: EIDW) is the busiest airport in Ireland and one of the largest in Europe, located approximately 10 kilometres north of Dublin city centre in Collinstown, County Fingal. It serves as the main hub for Aer Lingus and a major base for Ryanair, handling over 32 million passengers in peak pre-pandemic years. The airport is operated by daa (formerly Dublin Airport Authority) and offers direct connections to destinations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and beyond. It holds particular strategic importance as a transatlantic hub, offering US Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance facilities, allowing passengers to arrive in the United States as domestic travellers. Dublin Airport has undergone significant infrastructure investment over the years, including the opening of Terminal 2 in 2010, which expanded capacity and modernised the passenger experience considerably.
Terminals
Dublin Airport operates two passenger terminals: Terminal 1, the original facility, and Terminal 2, which opened in 2010 and primarily handles Aer Lingus and Star Alliance carriers.
Getting to & from
Dublin Airport is connected to the city centre by multiple bus services including Airlink Express routes 747 and 757, as well as private coaches and taxis; a planned MetroLink rail connection is under development.
Airlines here
Aer Lingus uses Dublin as its primary hub, while Ryanair operates a major base here; other carriers including United, American, Delta, and Lufthansa also serve the airport.
