Traveler ratings — LKO
The departure terminal at LKO is quite well-maintained and spacious compared to what it used to be a few years ago. Security lines moved reasonably fast for my early morning IndiGo flight to Delhi. The free WiFi, however, kept dropping every 10 minutes which was frustrating when I was trying to finish some work before boarding. Food options are decent but a bit overpriced — the Café Coffee Day inside does the job if you need a quick bite.
The drop-off area outside is very well organized and I never had any trouble getting out of the car quickly, which is a big relief during peak hours. The ground staff were polite and helped my elderly mother navigate to the check-in counter without any fuss. My only real complaint is the washrooms near Gate 4 — they were in a sorry state on a Sunday afternoon, clearly not cleaned often enough. The terminal building itself looks modern but needs better upkeep in the smaller corners.
Travelled through LKO last month on my way back from visiting family and was pleasantly surprised by the food court — the chaat stall inside had some genuinely good aloo tikki, a rare find at an Indian airport. Parking charges are on the higher side and the layout of the multi-level car park can be confusing the first time. Security was a bit slow and the CISF staff seemed understaffed at one of the screening lanes, causing a small backlog around 11 AM. Overall a solid mid-sized airport that handles the crowd reasonably well.
