Came here for my Tirumala darshan trip and the airport itself is quite clean and well-maintained for its size. Security was a bit slow — the queue stretched outside the terminal door on a busy Saturday morning. Food options are very limited though, just a small café with basic snacks and overpriced filter coffee. Staff were genuinely helpful when I was confused about the boarding gate change.
The drop-off area is nicely organized and our cab had no trouble pulling right up to the entrance — definitely better than Chennai airport chaos. But the toilets near the departure lounge were not properly maintained on the afternoon I visited, which was disappointing for a pilgrimage city airport. Parking rates are reasonable and the layout is simple enough. Overall a functional small airport but needs improvement in basic amenities.
As an NRI flying back to Hyderabad after visiting the temple, I was pleasantly surprised — the terminal is compact but surprisingly decent. Security was smooth and the staff were incredibly courteous, one officer even helped an elderly couple with their luggage without being asked. The free WiFi barely worked past the security gate which was frustrating when I needed to check my connecting flight. The Sree Annapoorna outlet had decent idli but options are really thin if you have any dietary restrictions.
