The new terminal building at SXR looks beautiful and is well-maintained, with lovely views of the mountains if you're lucky with the weather. Security checks were thorough but the queues moved slowly — took nearly 40 minutes during peak morning hours. Food options inside are really limited and overpriced for what you get; I'd strongly recommend eating before you arrive. Staff were generally courteous and helpful when I asked for directions.

Came here flying back to Delhi after our Gulmarg trip and the drop-off area was well-organised with no chaos, which I honestly didn't expect. But the toilets near the departure gate were in a sorry state — clearly not cleaned frequently enough given the passenger volume. Parking fees are reasonable if you're picking someone up. The terminal feels a bit cramped when flights are bunched together in the morning rush.

Honestly impressed by how clean and modern SXR has become — this is not the dingy airport I remember from my last visit five years ago. Security was strict as expected given the region, but the CISF personnel were professional and didn't hassle anyone unnecessarily. Do not rely on the airport WiFi though, it simply refused to connect on my phone and a colleague's laptop both. The Café Coffee Day airside is decent for a quick coffee but don't expect much beyond that.
