Surat airport has improved a lot in terms of cleanliness and the staff at check-in were quite helpful and courteous. However, the food options are very limited — basically one small cafe and a few packaged snack counters, which is disappointing for a city this size. Security queues can get chaotic during peak hours, especially before the Mumbai and Delhi morning flights. Hoping the expansion plans materialize soon.

Surat airport is compact and generally well-maintained — the terminal feels clean and not too chaotic for a Tier-2 city airport. Security queues can get painfully slow during morning rush hours, especially when the Dubai and Singapore flights are boarding simultaneously. The food options are very limited though; there's basically one small café and the prices are on the higher side for what you get. Staff were polite and helpful when I asked about my gate change.

The drop-off area is very well organized and I never had trouble getting to the entrance quickly, even during busy times. But honestly the toilets near the departure gate need serious attention — they were not clean on either of my last two visits and basic supplies were missing. Parking is reasonably priced and the layout is straightforward. For a city as prosperous as Surat, the food scene inside is really underwhelming.

The drop-off area at Surat airport is honestly one of the better ones I've seen — very smooth and no congestion even during peak hours. Parking charges are reasonable and the lot is close to the entrance, which is convenient if you're picking someone up. My only real complaint is the washrooms, which were not well-stocked and smelled unpleasant on the day I travelled — definitely needs more frequent attention. Overall it's fine for a short transit but don't expect a big-airport experience.

As an NRI flying back to London via Mumbai, I use Surat airport a few times a year and it is a decent small airport that gets the job done. Security was smooth and relatively quick, no complaints there. The free WiFi barely works once the terminal gets busy, which is frustrating when you need to send a last-minute email. There is a Café Coffee Day now which is a welcome addition, though the prices feel a bit steep for what you get.

Travelled through STV last month for my IndiGo flight to Mumbai and was pleasantly surprised by how decent the free Wi-Fi was — actually usable, unlike many airports I've been to. Security was professional and moved at a reasonable pace without too much drama. But please, someone tell the airport authorities to get a proper food court — one small snack counter for the entire departure lounge is just not enough, and the samosas were cold. Hoping the expansion plans they keep talking about actually happen soon.
